Women want more from financial services, according to the latest research from the Boston Consulting Group. First Foundation proudly announces the launch of its Focus on Women program designed specifically for their needs. Going beyond the traditional quantitative aspects of financial advice, the program takes a qualitative approach designed for women by women.
Women face unique challenges. Greater longevity and life transitions such as retirement, inheritance, marriage, divorce or widowhood call for special attention often overlooked in the financial services industry. Add the complexity of juggling multiple roles - wife, mother, daughter, business person, entrepreneur, executive and volunteer and ... well, you get the picture. Playing an increasingly important role in family finances, women influence purchases of 81% of all consumer goods, comprise 48% of America's millionaires, and control nearly half of the country's estates of more than $5M. It's clear that there's a need here.
More than ever before, women are using investment management, banking and financial services. The question is whether these services are meeting their particular needs. The results of a 2009 comprehensive survey by The Boston Consulting Group Global Inquiry into Women and Consumerism speak to this point. "Of all the industries that affect their daily lives, women have identified the financial services industry as the one they are the most dissatisfied with on both a service and a product level," according to the survey.
At First Foundation we are committed to changing that. Our new program not only provides investment management, wealth planning, and coordinated banking and trust services, it also offers financial skills training, consulting on family issues, facilitated family meetings and strategic philanthropy planning.
Women place a high premium on finding someone they can trust, someone who will understand their perspective and perhaps has had similar experience. Our team has extensive professional experience working with women and we take our fiduciary responsibility (the highest standard of care) very seriously. In today's complex and rapidly changing financial landscape, we believe this is what our clients want and deserve.
